Alfords New Testament for English Readers, Vol 1 Part 1
Alford’s New Testament for English Readers, Volume 1 Part 1 – Matthew, Mark, Luke
Henry Alford (1810-1871) was an English churchman, Greek scholar, and theologian. His most notable work was a four-volume commentary through the Greek text of the New Testament. He used the best Greek manuscripts of his day and gave a careful, verse-by-verse examination of the original text.
I use Alford’s commentary a lot in my study of the New Testament. He gives a great analysis of the Greek text. The pdf file you can download is bookmarked for easier use. I can’t promise that the bookmarks will appear in all pdf readers. In print form, you could easily pay more than $100 for these works.
Volume 1 Part 1 contains Alford’s work on Matthew, Mark, and Luke
Volume 1 Part 2 contains Alford’s work on the Gospel of John and Acts
Volume 2 Part 1 contains Alford’s work on the Epistles of Paul
Volume 2 Part 2 contains Alford’s work on Hebrews through Revelation
