How Can I Know If I Am Truly Saved And Stop Doubting My Faith?

Q: I often question whether I'm really saved and how to know if I put my trust in Jesus. How can I know and stop doubting? Is it a lack of faith?

A: It might be a lack of faith, but it might just be the idea that you need to keep coming back to faith. If tomorrow you find your faith challenged, it doesn't mean that you didn't believe today. We just face challenges to faith. Some people have a personality that's more susceptible to such attacks. If that's how you're wired, just realize it and determine that even in a season of doubting, you're still going to find a way to trust God.

Remember what that man with the troubled son said to Jesus: "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief." That sounds to me like where you are sometimes, and that's okay. Remember that you're not saved by the strength of your faith. You're saved by the object of your faith, and the object of your faith is Jesus Christ.
