Can A Jehovah’s Witness Be Saved?
Q: Can a Jehovah's Witness be saved despite their doctrinal errors?
A: Salvation is not fundamentally a matter of belonging to the right group, and damnation is not fundamentally a matter of belonging to the wrong group. Is it possible for someone who's a Jehovah's Witness to sort through it and genuinely put their trust in the true Jesus, not the Jesus presented by the Watchtower? The Jesus that's presented by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not the Jesus of the Bible.
Is it possible for someone who attends the Kingdom Hall to somehow do that? For God to work through that? Yes, it's possible. I would consider it probably unlikely, but with God, all things are possible. It would mean that the individual, despite the bad doctrine and teaching surrounding them, has found a way to put real trust, reliance, and clinging to the real Jesus, not the Jesus preached by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. That person could be saved. Again, I would say unlikely, but possible.
Could there be situations where a person would be called of God to stay within their group to preach the truth? Yes, I think that could happen. Normally, though, they would get out. If a person felt called to stay as long as they were allowed, there could be a place for that. They might see it as a mission. However, generally, just being a part of the movement would lead them to eventually say, 'I can't stay here any longer.' It would be unusual for a new believer to be effective in that environment, but not impossible.
