Is Baptism Necessary for Salvation?

A: You need to be baptized. I don’t think that you need to be baptized in order to be saved. But you need to be baptized because Jesus commanded you to. Jesus told His followers to be baptized. So, yes, you need to get baptized.

Now, I can think of ways that a person can be genuinely saved and never be baptized, the thief on the cross being a commonly mentioned example. Yes, I believe that it’s possible to be saved and never be baptized, but it’s not normative. God tells His people that they should be baptized.
