Why Is Christianity Different From Other Religions?

Q: What makes Christianity fundamentally different from other religions in how it understands and practices worship?

A: In Christianity, we worship God in Spirit and in truth. First, we worship God in spirit according to the Holy Spirit. Secondly, we worship God in truth. God has revealed the truth to us through the Person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” (see John 14:6). You can’t worship God in truth unless you come to God in and through the person of Jesus Christ, believing who He is and receiving what He did to reconcile us to God. That makes Christianity different. Other religions pray. Other religions sing songs of worship. Other religions read their holy writings. But none of them worship God in Spirit and in truth the way that God commanded us to.
