To whom does the devil accuse us?
To whom does the devil accuse us? Are feelings of guilt and accusation from the devil?
Revelation 12:10 – Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
This passage of Scripture refers to the devil as the one who accuses the brethren (believers) in the presence of God, day and night. It’s a very good question: to whom are these accusations made? Since these accusations are being made in the presence of God, it’s not unreasonable to think that they are being made before God. Just like Satan tried to sour God’s opinion of Job, I would not be surprised if Satan would attempt to sour God’s opinion of believers today. Therefore, he accuses them before God, day and night.
Are feelings of guilt and accusation from devil? They certainly can be guilt. Feelings do not only come from the accusations of the devil, but they can also come through our own overactive conscience. They can come from the world system around us that would try to press us into its mold, according to their standards. But let’s remind ourselves not all guilt is bad. There is a such thing as an appropriate guilt. Unwarranted guilt could come because of satanic accusation, but not necessarily.
