Does Jesus Currently Know The Day And Hour Of His Return?

Q: My question comes is about Mark 13:32. I can understand Jesus setting aside certain attributes of his Godhead when He came in the flesh, but now that He is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Father, do you think He knows the day and the hour? And if He doesn’t, wouldn’t that mean inequality in the Godhead, if the Father knows something that the Son does not? Either way that it is answered, it won’t shake my faith. I know that His ways are much higher than our ways, and there are going to be things about God that we can’t comprehend this side of eternity.

Mark 13:32 – But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

A: Here’s my immediate thought: I think Jesus does know the day and the hour now. I think that His position of not knowing the day or the hour was something relegated to His mission here on Earth, in which He was humbled and emptied Himself of all privilege (see Philippians 2).

At the present time, Jesus remains the God-Man. That’s very important for people to understand. Jesus Christ did not relinquish His humanity when He ascended to heaven. He remained the God-Man, but He now is seated at the right hand of God the Father on high. So, I would think that this knowledge is, by Jesus’s choice, accessible to Him at this point. It was not inaccessible to Him before, but He chose to not access it. But now that He has been exalted by the Father, I think this information is accessible to Him at the present time.
