Do I Need To Feel God’s Anointing Before I Begin Preaching?

Q: My pastor is putting pressure on me to preach, but I haven’t received anything from the Lord yet. I want anointing before I start my ministry. I spoke with my pastor, but he does not understand.

A: I would simply ask you this: Do you want to preach or do you not want to preach? Now, I understand that you are waiting for some kind of feeling of anointing. You’re waiting for this feeling that you ought to preach. But it doesn’t always happen that way. I would just say that if you want to preach, then go ahead and find a way to preach, and ask God to show you if this is something you should continue to do. If you don’t want to preach, then don’t preach. But talk to God about it and say, “Lord, I don’t want to preach. But if You want to make me willing, I’m willing to be made willing.”
