Is The Fate Of Angels Permanently Fixed?

Q: Angels don’t have a sin nature, yet some fell. Did they have free will, and is the fate of the angels who did not fall now permanently fixed?

A: In this particular sense, I think that angels are now what we will be in the future. There will come a day when the eternal fate of every human being is decided, and we pass from this life to the next. “It’s appointed unto man, once to die and then to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). The lot of humanity is that what we do, how we decide, what we put our trust in, and what we accept and reject in this life now affects us for all of eternity. This is just simple biblical truth. But there will come a time when the time of choosing is over, when there is no more choice to be made, and it’s done.

I believe that is the present state of angelic beings. They had their time for choosing, just as we have our time for choosing right now. I think there is a whole backstory to what God did with angelic beings before the creation of humanity. I don’t know what it is, and I’m not going to speculate on it, because it’s just speculation. But I think that God had His dealings with angels, resolved their eternity one way or another, and then God moved on to humanity. So, our current ability to choose is what the angelic beings had at one time, but no longer enjoy.
